TL;DR:

  • What it is: Bronzing drops
  • What it does: Adds an instant luminous glow to any skin-care routine
  • Who it’s for: Anyone looking for a quick way to add warmth to their routine—without self-tanner

As I'm typing this, the temperature is 2 degrees Fahrenheit. And thanks to some truly disturbing wind patterns, the real-feel temperature is around -10. Um….excuse me? Needless to say, I’ll be staying indoors for the foreseeable future. And because of that, I’ll be lacking some much-needed vitamin D.

Although I’m not big on self-tanner (I’m very, very bad at it, OK?), I am a fan of bronzing drops. They’re super easy to use and give the glowiest results—without having to step foot onto a beach. (Let’s be real: I’d happily take sand in my shoes over sludge on my boots. 😭)

Right now, I’m loving the First Aid Beauty Bronze + Glow Drops with Niacinamide. It’s a bronze-y serum loaded with soothing niacinamide and glimmering micro pearls to again, give skin (even the sensitive types!) a luminous glow without the UV damage. The result is more subtle sheen than off-season sun-kissed, but the drops are super buildable.

I find that the easiest way to use them is to dribble a drop or two of the golden liquid into my morning moisturizer, mix on the back of my hand, and then massage the concoction into skin. It gives a pretty, allover gleam. Of course, they can also be worn solo, like a serum, but I would still follow up the serum with a moisturizer and sunscreen.

The drops are also dewy enough to be used as a liquid highlighter; I like to tap them onto my cheekbones, moving the bronzer up to my temples. The (cloudy, cold) sky is the limit with these guys!
